Before there was Laker Coffee there was Laker Carpentry, which was Chris McPhee’s first love.
Over the last ten years as a journeyman carpenter, Chris has built well-known establishments all across Edmonton, including The Hat, Barber Ha, The Refuge, Vanity Corner, The Cutting Loft, Three Boars, Tres Carnales, and Blunt Salon. Building this carpentry business—and building other local businesses—has helped him build a foundation for retail, business, and community.
It also gave him the literal skills to refurbish and rebuild a 1976 RV into the mobile coffee trailer, which will be found in downtown Edmonton and at local events and festivals
In a way, Chris has learned one skill to build another.
